Recently, Taiwan Media reported that a two-year study was conducted by Dr. Hong g of Taiwan’s Fooyin University and Dr. Takeuchi of Japan’s Defense Medical University. The experiment exposed mice to blue light, which mimics the way a human would look at a mobile phone.
About 80% of the mice were found to have retinopathy after 12 hours of daily irradiation for 7 days. The photoreceptor cells of the retina also showed apoptosis and autophagy. If the mice were exposed to blue light for a long period of time when their vision began to deteriorate, that could lead to blindness.
Dr .Hong of the research team, said: “The mice were about seven to eight weeks old and were exposed to blue light for a week. In humans, they were about seven to eight years old and exposed to blue light for two to three years. In other words, if 7-and 8-year-old children playing on his phone for more than 10 hours a day, they may have retinopathy 2-3 years later, but when the lesions invade the macula, there is a risk of blindness.” The research has been published in the US Journal Nature and science.

"this experiment simulates the environment of blue light, so that the mice can grow up in a enclosed space with only blue light. Although children aged 7 or 8 playing on his mobile phones for 12 hours, they will still be exposed to other light sources besides blue light, which is far from real life.
Dr. Hong also pointed out: "Although the rat experiment can not be fully applied to humans, but also gives humans a considerable warning. Dr. Hong suggested that the total number of hours per day to playing on cell phones should not be too long, otherwise the continuous release of blue light will damage the corneal cells, so that corneal erosion, or worse, corneal ulcers and clouding.
In addition to damage to the retina, the mice also developed precancerous lesions in other parts of the body, such as the lungs, liver and kidneys. It is suspected that exposure to blue light increases free radicals in the body and causes organ cancer, the Mouse Experiment is a far cry from the way humans experience blue light on their mobile phones.
